TUCO Finals set for Monday and Tuesday, Feb 20-21, 2006

TUCO will host the 2006 Unattached Calypso Monarch Final at Port-of-Spain City Hall on Monday, February 20, 2006 starting at 8 pm.
The organisation will also stage the finals in the categories for Best Social Commentary, Political Commentary, Humorous Commentary and Soca Chutney on February 23.
These finals take place at the Grand Stand, Queen’s Park Savannah, at 8 pm.
The offspring of three popular artistes—Nesta Boxill (son of the late Merchant); Heather McIntosh (daughter of Short Pants); Karene Asche (daughter of Errol Asche)—have made it to the final of the Unattached Calypso Monarch contest.
Also in the final are Luta, Roderick Gordon, Dereck Seales, Anthony Johnson, Trinidad Rio and Lady Gypsy. The reserves are Daddyman and Tigress.
The finalists for Best Social Commentary are Explainer, Brian London, Heather McIntosh, Luta and Stinger, with Luta, Skatie, Crazy, Hamidullah and Maria Bhola making it to the final of the Best Political Commentary category.
The five finalists in the Humorous Commentary category are Brother Alpha, Bunny B, Bodyguard, Spicy and Mr Nature. The Soca Chutney final will field Heeralal Rampartap, Wendy Scantlebury, Lady Gypsy, Ramdeen Maharaj and Mukesh Babooram.
