Golfing the El Conquistador
El Conquistador Golf Course in Puerto Rico was designed by Arthur Hills, which has a good view of the countryside of El Yunque rain forest and the cliffs that goes all the way to the blue green water of Caribbean Sea. The place is situated in Fajardo on the northeast tip of Puerto Rico. It is just 40 miles from the capital city of San Juan. Its coastline catches both the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean.
One of the favorite things to do while in there is to play golf in El Conquistador Golf Course, which will surely take your breath away with the incredible scenery that surrounds it. The best spot for sightseeing and picture taking would be at the 15th hole which is elevated at 200 feet above the fairway overlooking the Caribbean coastline that jets up in to the blue green waters. At this height, the fairways are really wild and will only be realized once you try it. The design requires utmost patience and smart tactics. Its golf course is being managed by Troon Golf. Its driving range is just 10 to 15 stations, and the putting green is good enough. The unpredictable weather of Puerto Rico makes the golf course more challenging.
Once in El Conquistador, you won't have to worry of where to stay for a night or a vacation perhaps. There is the Wyndham El Conquistador in Fajardo, which is situated atop a 300 foot cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. This resort has four wings with different environments. The Las Brisas wing offers golf course view and the La Vista offers breathtaking view of the ocean.
Another place to stay is in Las Olas Village, which is directly built on the cliff's side. The La Marina Village is situated next to the ocean with easy access to docks of private charters. However, the choice of celebrities is La Casitas Village due to its secluded location. It is near the Golden Door Spa of El Conquistador.
Dining is also not a problem in the area. The must have dinner is at El Conquistador's Isabela Grill. Their famous steak and wine are served by friendly and accommodating staffs. Make sure also to have a drink at Drake's Cigar Bar to socialize with fellow golfers and retell the stories of your game. Another must visit is The Parrot Club in San Juan which serves authentic Puerto Rican cuisine.
The resort also has five pools to choose from. They have a private island called Palomino Island, which can be accessed only by guests of the resort. This island is a place for water sports and they even have a nude beach.
The El Conquistador in Puerto Rico is located in a friendly spot with all the entertainment, dining and comfort the Old San Juan have to offer. You can buy souvenirs such as the old aged rums of Bacardi Rum Factory, and they offer tours within its site as well. You can also cool down at the El Yunque Rain Forest which has waterfalls and a scenic view of Puerto Rico. For night dwellers, head back to El Conquistador's Casablanca Nightclub with a casino just nearby. Also nearby is Bar 21 for sports fanatics.
This place is truly a recommended golfing course for friends and family.
I am a video games fanatic looking forward to the imminent release of the games for Kinect XBox. This new feature for the XBox 360 has been eagerly awaited by me and others. Kinect games like Kinectimals will allow the user to control the game with just body movements.
