What is happening in St. Maarten:

The St. Maarten year is marked by a number of festive events from Carnival and Calypso celebrations to International fishing tournaments and weekly street parties.


  • New Year's Day - January 1 - Public holiday
  • Annual Golf Medal Play


  • DHL Triple Fun Triathlon at Mullet Bay


  • Annual St. Maarten Heineken Regatta
  • Treaty of Concordia Celebration
  • SMALTA Kids' Triathlon
  • Easter Holidays - Good Friday Easter Sunday and Easter Monday (Easter Holidays are either in late March or early April)


  • St. Maarten Open Golf Tournament - Mid April 12, 2002
  • Annual Carnival Season
  • Queen's birthday - Public Holiday - April 30

The Carnival season is one of the biggest events of the year in St. Maarten. It is celebrated over a two-week period and features costumes, music, dancing and merriment throughout the island.

    St. Maarten's Day on November 11 is celebrated to commemorate the peaceful reconciliation between the Dutch and the French. This event was the separation and the development of two places, St. Maarten that is Dutch and St. Martin, which is French.
