St. Barthelemy: Things to Do

A butterfly shaped island with lush tropical rainforest and spectacular beaches and a landscape that enhances all that is St. Barts. The calm, unhurried island is a fusion of two cultures, the French and Creole with a distinct Caribbean flavor. Ideal weather that ranges within 76-86 degrees makes it ideal for vacationing all through the year. Though small in stature the island boasts of 14 beautiful beaches, a marine park that is home to pelicans and other bird species. A diamond in the rough, this tiny eight square miles island is a prime vacation spot waiting to be discovered.

 Outdoor Activities

One of the more popular sports on the island, with competitions both on the beach and hardtop courts all year. Helene Hughes-Clery a French professional introduced the sport to the island and since then the sport has take on a non-stop popularity that extends to every age group and gender.

Bring your rackets or rent some and have a game at any one of the courts available. Many of the hotels on the islands are equip with their own courts, which makes accessibility very easy during the day or night. Although there is ideal weather all year, it is recommended that players keep away from the high noon sun.

Take a walk and discover the magic of the island. Because of the small size of the island, the trails are not very difficult, but yet prove to be a very interesting excursion.

 Water Sports
