How do you know if a subject is already a topic in the forum?

You could do a search by clicking on the word Search above.  That would find all posts that mention whatever you are searching for.

Also, if there are no posts about your subject in the last couple months (or the first couple pages of a forum area), then it is best to start a new topic.

We actually prefer people start new topics instead of digging up topics that are a year old.

So don't be afraid to start new topics.  We've actually been trying to get people to open more new topics.
