    Posted: 19 Dec 2009 at 7:35am
Let me be the first to post here.

I've completed my fourth novel. I'm in the process of sending out query letters to literary agents. So far, I've received a few possitive responses asking for the full manuscript and partials. I'm anxiously awaiting for feedback. I do not want to self-publish. The POD companies are making all the money after I've put so much effort and hard work into bursting my brains coming up with ideas, sitting in front of the puter for hours, etc.

I'm working on my fifth book and a screenplay. I just love doing that - writing.

That's wonderful, Sandra.  I totally understand the art of writing. I wish you every success on having that 4th Novel published.  And best of luck with your 5th.

Thanks, Tagruz. Vutje, I'm still waiting on you. The title is catchy, though. LADY IN BLACK. Concept by Vutjebal, written by Sandra Broker. (broke)

Anyway, I have confidence in my work and believe that I'll make it someday as long as I'm still breathing.

Name your books in the thread Sandy ... so we could talk about them ... I'm yet to read them but can't wait ... the bookstores here do not stock so I must order ... will figure something out ... Good luck and success with your writing ... hope it brings you serious green backs.

I know why you would not want to self-publish, since that also means self-promotion too.  But even with the big publishing houses, you have to do a lot of promotion yourself too.  And that advance is nice too.  Plus the prestige and their connections.

I think I will self-publish my first book, simply because I want to get it out there immediately.  Also it will be a good example and testing ground for me.  Also, I can use it to promote my other services as well, such as speaking and training.
