Aruba is a breathtaking Caribbean island situated approximately 15 miles away from the coast of Venezuela. This tropical paradise is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Caribbean, and there’s no question why! Awesome weather, fun, and excitement, fine dining, and gorgeous beaches are just some of the things you’ll experience in Aruba!

Do you love the ocean? Then you’ll love Aruba! Lounge on beautiful white beaches next to turquoise seas, or get active and try some water sports. There’s surfing, parasailing, windsurfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and so much more! See underwater life on a fun submarine ride, or go extreme with snuba, a new yet popular scuba/snorkel cross. If you like to fish, there is no shortage of deep sea fishing expeditions. And some of Aruba’s restaurants will clean and cook your catch of the day for you!

Are you a land lover? Explore the beautiful scenery on your choice of vehicle. Rent a Harley and roar through the island, or pedal on a bike. Cruise with a dune buggy or scooter, or go rustic and rent a Jeep. If you love horseback riding, there are lots of opportunities to ride in Aruba. And there’s nothing more romantic or beautiful than a horseback ride down the shore at sunset!

For fine dining, head to Chez Mathilde or Manchebo French Steakhouse. If you’re on vacation with kids or people who want a taste of home, there is a plethora of fast food restaurants like McDonald’s that offer familiar food at a nice price! Try some authentic island cuisine at the Aqua Grill or take a dinner cruise with Red Sail Sports.

Dance all night at one of Aruba’s popular hotspots. Mambo Jambo and Jolly Pirates are just two examples of the fun nightclubs that Aruba has to offer. There are nightclubs, casinos, and lounges everywhere you look ready to welcome you!

Aruba is an amazing Caribbean island that truly has everything. If you’re going to Aruba, you’ll soon discover why so many vacationers choose Aruba for their vacation destination!

I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning how to sail my ship.

Aruba is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; full autonomy in internal affairs was obtained in 1986, upon separation from the Netherlands Antilles. The Dutch Government is responsible for defense and foreign affairs.

It is a semi-arid limestone platform set on an ancient core of igneous rock. The island is nearly 32 km long and up to 10 km wide and covers an area of 193 km². Aruba is 31 km north of Cape San Roman on the Paraguaná Peninsula of Venezuela. Little variation in temperatures occurs throughout the year and rainfall, which falls mostly in November and December, averages less than 51 centimeters a year. The red soil on the island is poor and thin and the thorny vegetation is quite drought resistant. Tourism and the refining of oil brought in from nearby Venezuela are the major industries. Oraniestad, located on the northwest coast, is the major city of the island (source: NASA and CIA).
