yup, in respect for the dead who has gone on before. Some folks even take a shot of white(overproof) rum and sprinkle on the graves. Tradition what can i tell you.

Abdiel when i was living in PR we would go with my friend up to his family in the mountainous (sp)(mountains) and we would have a long week end kill a pig and roast it and drink moonshine. The first taste you had to spit it out in respect of your ancestors. And let me tell you if you are not good you cant drink that stuff. but we had such good times bathing in the river etc. it remind me of Jamaica years gone bye. life was so much simpller then. living in Ponce was a hoot.

I never heard about that spiting the first taste in respect of the ancestors but now I know it XD cool, BTW yup Ponce is the hotest place in PR. Killing a pig... very traditional
