I am hopeful ... the day has come globally, albeit with resistance ... where the term race is being put back where it belongs ... a genetic & scientific marker ... not a skill set, or one's ethics, or one's financial status, or one's character or social standing, or one's capacity to do good or ill or his morality ... I say hallelujah ... it marks the beginning of great possibilities and we are witness to this ... am sooooooooooo grateful ... I could scream!!!
America has the opportunity to be a leader again!

Permit me to throw a little spanner into the works.
I think that racism will be with us for a loooong ,
long time to come . The racist is a bigot and I will refuse to sit and have discourse with him..on the
other hand I will sit [ without preconditions ] and
engage in healthy discussion with one who is racially conscious...big difference.

My feeling is that there is a higher order to racism.
That order is color. And so while the racist may disappear or hypocritically appear to so do..color remains the great divider.I can cross the racial
divide on either side and reap the benefits or
brutality of same based on the color I present. I call
to mind the book : As Black as Me and the movie : I passed for white .

I leave you with a mind blowing incident : about 3 weeks
ago a neighbor's dog dropped under a shack in my yard.
The dog has white shaggy hair and the two pups :one
white , the other black . Within hours of dropping the mother removed the black pup and took it to the back of the yard . I called over the kid next door and had him
remove both mother and pups . To my amazement, the mother
returned the black pup to the shack to die while nursing the white pup next door.

You draw your conclusions...race Vs color in the order of things.

I found that hard to believe, there could have been other reasons for that dog to do that.

Racism is in every one, I think. However allowing it to judge a person is just showing a lack of intellect. I am a person of mixed “race” a mongrel to many; however I find in any race it has its draw backs. I find myself being comfortable with certain races until they prove themselves, maybe society has done it to me but so be it. Culturally I may not like certain things but that is just to show that we all have preconceive notion about people in general.

We shall never know whether the pups' mom is a racist
or she is just color conscious. We lowly mortals are
deprived of the ability to understand all things and
even Solomon at the end of his years pondered and pondered on quite a few things including whether the soul of the dog went upwards or downwards at death.
Sorry , no answer.

I posited that there is a higher order to racism ,that of color and I call to mind the Indian Dalit .People of the same race on the subcontinent but different colors .The whole thing makes an interesting study..we may never find an answer. Cheers!

As the saying goes ... a rose by any other name is still a rose ... what is the moral of the dog story, that all species are racist? I'll be darn, I refuse to buy into that notion ... the beauty of democracy ... I love it!!
