Some people eat rice 'once in a blue moon'... Therefore a Rice Cooker is Ok for them. Rice Cookers don't make 'pegao' or that crust of rice that is formed in the bottom of an iron pot...That's the best part of eating rice!

Rice is consumed everyday in my house. Even before I know what the rest of the menu is, I put on the rice pot on; everything else is a complement or side dish.

When you eat rice everyday you have to get rid of the excess starch on the rice. You should rinse it before you cook it.

Stripping it of it's natural nutrients and then lacing it with so called 'vitamins' is the new trend. Then they advice you not to wash off the vitamins by rinsing the rice...Do they recommend we accumulate all that starch in our intestines?...

The wisdom of the elders is my guide

Meat and potato eaters... don't eat rice.

I know some Chinese that might disagree with you on that statement.
