The island of Aruba will be filled with sounds of soul this coming Memorial Day Weekend. For the first time, Aruba will host the annual Savoy Soul Beach Music Festival on May 21st-26th 2008 which will blend together musical and comedic performances.
On Friday, May 23rd, Aruba will welcome back popular comedian/actor, Sinbad, to headline the festival s comedy night. Recent Star Search winner, Horace HB Sanders, a new comedy sensation, will also be performing that night.
The musical concerts will take place on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th. Among the artists scheduled to perform are Grammy-nominated India.Arie, who is known for captivating audiences with her smooth vocals. Also performing at the festival will be the funk grooves of Charlie Wilson and The Gap Band, one of the most influential groups in the history of R&B.
Club Havana and other nightclub hotspots will host welcome parties for the Soul Beach Music Festival on Wednesday, May 21st. On May 22nd, festival participants can attend daytime beach parties at the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort.

The Soul Beach Music Festival is an annual event that has been taking place for the past 8 years during Memorial Day Weekend in May.
You might remember during the late 90s', that the comedian "Sinbad" used to hold an event on the island of Aruba that brought back many of the classic bands and singers from the 70s, 80s and 90s for a huge weekend in Aruba. It was a smash hit.
Well the co-creaters of that event decided to bring back that same magic to the present day with a mixture of neo-soul artist, nationally known comedians and island beach activities to capture that same energy. This is the sixth year of the Aruba event and it has now become a staple for Memorial Day Weekend travelers who are looking for fun and excitement with people who enjoy the same atmosphere in location and music.

Aruba is thrilled to announce the star-studded lineup for the Eighth Annual Soul Beach Music Festival featuring Grammy Award-winners Erykah Badu, and Wyclef Jean along with R&B stars Sean Kingston, Ledisi, and Paige.
In addition, funnymen, Sinbad and Brandon T. Jackson will keep sides splitting. The festivities kick off this Memorial Day weekend, May 21- 26, as Aruba's white-sand shores are turned white hot from five days of unforgettable nights at some of the island's hottest nightclubs, incredible beach parties, and, of course, the once-in-a-lifetime music and comedy concerts sure to pack a punch.

Featuring a psychedelic hybrid of entertainment, the Eighth Annual Soul Beach Music Festival arrangement includes, Grammy Winning talent along with the freshest faces emerging in the music and film industry. This non-stop party kicks into high gear with a Comedy Concert series that doubles the pleasure with performances by famous funnyman Sinbad and a rising comedy star Brandon T. Jackson on Friday, May 23. Opening the ever-popular music concert series and pushing the party into high gear on Saturday, May 24 are Ledisi and headliner Wyclef Jean. Closing out the extraordinary weekend of solid Main Stage Concert performances on Sunday, May 25 are Paige Bryan, Sean Kingston and headliner Erykah Badu.
