"Carnival season is a time of celebration that accentuates so many of the influences which have contributed to our background over many centuries," said Jacinth Henry-Martin of the nation's Ministry of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports. "This year's carnival season promises to be even more remarkable than those of the past."
Yesterday was the first day of Carnival and everyone took to the streets to watch the troupes and bands parade down the street.
The weather was great, a lot of military and police presence so everyone felt safe, lots of smiling faces, great music to whine to, and delicious food from the local vendors.
