The eighteenth Helsinki Samba Carnaval will take place on June 6th and 7th 2008. The main location is again the Senate Square.
Carnival begins with an opening ceremony on Friday evening and fills the city streets on Saturday, ending up to a hot and colourful party nigth on Saturday night.

The big carnival parade on Saturday is also the Finnish Championships of samba schools. Helsinki Samba Carnaval is the only Finnish festival listed in the Top 50 European Local Festivities.

Since the year 2002 I go every year in helsinki to visit this town and other parts of Finland but I never forget to see the Samba Carnaval, a very nice one exactly the copy of Rio Carnaval the show take place in the streets of the city so we can see it better than in Rio. The people of the Samba Schools are very kind and full of joy You must to go to see them. The people of Finland is marvelous. In Paris between 17 to 27 of april Helsinki town came on the place Saint-Sulpice come to see. Look on You Tube "Samba Carnaval Helsinki"
